Presenter: Steve Prull

The Google Chromebook is a unique laptop that is well suited for use with students in the K12 classroom. Writing, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies instruction can all be addressed using Google Apps and other Web 2.0 tools. This hands-on session will focus on implementing the Chromebook in the elementary school classroom as experienced through a Title IID EdTech Grant in the Redmond School District.  Chromebooks will be available for use by each participant.

  • What makes the Chromebook different from a 'regular' laptop? What are the 'pros' and 'cons' ?
  • How is the Chromebook different from an iPad?
  • How difficult is it to distribute and maintain the Chromebook?
  • Is Google Apps a good fit for the elementary classroom?
  • How are teachers currently using the Chromebook in the classroom with students?
